I Am All That You Need

For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” - Psalm 107:9 NLT

ree

Psalm 107 speaks of people in four different types of stressful situations and how God rescues them: wanderers, prisoners, the distressed and sick, and the storm-tossed. No matter how extreme our calamity, God breaks through to help us. He offers love and kindness to those in deep distress. Lost, hungry, thirsty and exhausted, these wanderers typify the Israelites in exile. But they also typify anyone who has not found the satisfaction that comes from knowing God. Anyone who recognizes there own lostness can receive the offer of Yeshua to satisfy these needs. Yeshua is the way, the Bread of Life, the living water and the Giver of rest. When people live to please the LORD, even their enemies are at peace with them.

Often we want others to like us, and sometimes we will do almost anything to win their approval. But God tells us to put our energy into pleasing Him first. Our effort to be peacemakers will usually make us more appealing to those around us, even our adversaries. But even when it doesn’t, we haven’t lost anything. We are still pleasing God, the only One who truly matters. So humble yourselves before God. Remember that before we were born, God chose us and called us by His marvelous Grace. Draw close to Him, love Him, follow Him, and fulfill the purpose He has for your life.

A person’s words are measured by the quality of his or her character. If your friends trust what you say, it is because they trust you. If you trust what God says, it is because you trust Him to be the God He claims to be. If you doubt His Words you doubt His integrity. If you believe God is truly God, then believe what He says in His Word. The Bible is reliable. It contains the Words of a Holy, trustworthy, and unchangeable God.

For the Word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything He does.
