Temple Maintenance

"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God" Hebrews 13:16.

HEALTH TIPS: This verse suggests that the deepest form of health—both biological and spiritual—comes through intentional selflessness. When we choose action instead of indifference, we activate something life-giving within us.

True generosity is not passive. It requires a decision. The warning “do not neglect” implies that the drift toward self-focus is easy. Vitality, however, comes from deliberate engagement.

On a biological level, serving others has measurable effects. Acts of generosity reduce stress, regulate the nervous system, and trigger chemicals associated with well-being and connection. The body responds positively to outward-focused love.

Spiritually, sacrifice reshapes the heart. Giving interrupts isolation, loosens the grip of self-absorption, and aligns a person with God’s character. In Scripture, sacrifice is not meaningless loss—it is participation in divine Love.

Neglect leads to stagnation. Intentional service creates movement. Movement creates life; we are strengthened not by guarding ourselves, but by giving ourselves.

Recipe of the Month: The Ephesians 5:2 Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Continuous Love, walk consistently in love

  • A lifetime of Yeshua's Example

  • 2 tablespoons of Self-Sacrifice

  • A pinch of An Offering to God

This describes a daily, intentional way of living marked by active, self-giving love. It is a voluntary surrender of personal rights, comforts, and desires for the good of others. Every action is done as an act of worship to God. The result is a “fragrant offering”—a life that pleases and honors Him.

Preparation:

The essential ingredient is walking in unconditional, self-sacrificial love, modeled after Christ’s love for humanity. This kind of love involves “giving oneself up,” choosing to place the needs of others and the purposes of God above personal preferences.

When these elements come together, a person’s life becomes a sweet-smelling aroma to God—like the incense offered in Old Testament worship—rising as a pleasing and honoring sacrifice to Him.
