Scripture of the Day
“O Lord, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth!” - Psalms 94:1 TLV

Today's Devotional
This verse may feel intense at first but beneath it is a deep cry for justice, not revenge.
It is the voice of someone who has seen wrong go unchecked, who has felt overlooked,
who has wondered, “God, do You see what’s happening?” Instead of taking matters into their own hands, they turn to God and say: “GOD of EL ROI, You are the God who sees. You are the God who judges rightly. Shine forth.”
This is not about human anger, it is about trusting divine justice. There are moments in life when injustice cuts deep: when you are misunderstood, when you are treated unfairly, when others seem to prosper while doing wrong. In those moments, the temptation is to respond in bitterness or retaliation. But Scripture calls us to something higher. Romans 12:19 reminds us: “Never take your own revenge, loved ones, but give room for God’s wrath - for it is written,"Vengeance is Mine; I will replay,’ says ADONAI”. God is not blind to injustice. He is patient but He is also just.
Psalm 94:1 teaches us to release the burden of revenge and place it into God’s hands. When you carry anger, it drains your peace. But when you surrender justice to God, you make room for His peace to guard your heart. Deuteronomy 32:35 says: “It is Mine to avenge; I will repay.” And 2 Thessalonians 1:6 assures us: “God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you.” These are not threats, they are promises that God’s justice is perfect, measured, and never mistaken.
But here is the deeper beauty: The same God who is just is also merciful. While He deals with injustice, He also calls us to walk in Grace, forgiveness, and trust. Because if we are honest, we too depend on His mercy daily.
