For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” - Psalm 107:9 NLT

ree

Psalm 107 speaks of people in four different types of stressful situations and how God rescues them: wanderers, prisoners, the distressed and sick, and the storm-tossed. No matter how extreme our calamity, God breaks through to help us. He offers love and kindness to those in deep distress. Lost, hungry, thirsty and exhausted, these wanderers typify the Israelites in exile. But they also typify anyone who has not found the satisfaction that comes from knowing God. Anyone who recognizes there own lostness can receive the offer of Yeshua to satisfy these needs. Yeshua is the way, the Bread of Life, the living water and the Giver of rest. When people live to please the LORD, even their enemies are at peace with them.

Often we want others to like us, and sometimes we will do almost anything to win their approval. But God tells us to put our energy into pleasing Him first. Our effort to be peacemakers will usually make us more appealing to those around us, even our adversaries. But even when it doesn’t, we haven’t lost anything. We are still pleasing God, the only One who truly matters. So humble yourselves before God. Remember that before we were born, God chose us and called us by His marvelous Grace. Draw close to Him, love Him, follow Him, and fulfill the purpose He has for your life.

A person’s words are measured by the quality of his or her character. If your friends trust what you say, it is because they trust you. If you trust what God says, it is because you trust Him to be the God He claims to be. If you doubt His Words you doubt His integrity. If you believe God is truly God, then believe what He says in His Word. The Bible is reliable. It contains the Words of a Holy, trustworthy, and unchangeable God.

For the Word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything He does.

The Spirit of God, who raised Yeshua from the dead, lives in You. and just as God raised Yeshua from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you- Romans 8:11 NLT.

The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee of eternal life for those who believe in Him. The Spirit resides within us now by faith, and by faith we are certain to live with Yeshua forever. We can trust that God will always meet our needs. Whatever we actually need on earth He will always supply, even if like Paul, it is the courage to face death.

We must remember, however, the difference between our wants and our needs. Most people want to feel good and avoid discomfort and pain. We may not get all that we want. But by trusting in Yeshua our attitudes and appetites can change from wanting everything to accepting His provision and power to live for Him.

May we never translate our wants into our needs. Rather, may we live our lives on earth knowing that this life is fleeting and that our eternal home is in heaven. May we be content with all that we receive and give God both the thanks and the glory for all His ongoing and abundant supply. May we also rejoice to be children of our great and generous God and be ready and willing to honour the Lord with all our possessions and finances. And may we become cheerful givers for the cause of the gospel, knowing that this honors the Lord Who will never fail to provide everything we need.

Many people believe that to survive in this world a person must be tough, strong, unbending, and harsh. But God says, “Not by force nor by strength, but by My Spirit”. The key words are by My Spirit. It is only through God’s Spirit that anything of lasting value is accomplished. We have God in us. As we live for God, determine not to trust in your strength or abilities. Instead, depend on God and work in the power of His Spirit.

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God (Romans 8:14).

“You don't have enough faith, ”Yeshua told them. I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it would move. Nothing would be impossible’. Matthew 17:20 NLT

David praises God and calls Him his Lord and Master (psalm 16:2). Can you make that affirmation today? A Master or Lord is someone who has rightful power and authority over someone else’s life. Because God created you, in a very real sense you belong to Him and all you have is His. God created you out of love, so you can put Him first in all aspects of your life and give Him your complete allegiance. You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what You pleased” (Revelation 4:11).

Yeshua rebuked the disciples for insufficient faith. He was showing how important faith would be in their future ministry. If you are facing problems that seem as big and immovable as a mountain, turn your eyes from the mountain and look to Yeshua for more faith. Then you will be able to overcome the obstacles that stand in your way.

We may spend a lot of things and effort trying to sharpen our skills or increase our strength. Although there is nothing wrong with doing so, and, in fact, our resulting skills can be used to glorify God , that is not what God primarily desires from us. When we use our gifts with no regard for God, they accomplish little of lasting value. Ultimately, God desires our fear (reverence) and trust. When He has those, then He can use our skills and strength in ways far greater than we can imagine.

The Word of God gives us more than simply a collection of words from God, a vehicle for communicating His ideas; it has living life changing and dynamic power that works in us. With the incisiveness of a surgeon's knife, God’s Word reveals who we are and what we are not. It penetrates to the core of our moral and spiritual lives. It discerns both the good and the evil within us. God’s powerful Word will change us. We must not only listen to it; we must also let it transform our lives.

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Yeshua’ (Colossians 3:23-24).
