Lay It At His Feet

"Cast your burden on Adonai, and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken.” - Psalm 55:23 TLV

Psalm 55:23 reminds us that God never intended us to carry life's burdens alone. To "cast your burden on Adonai" is to lay every fear, sorrow, disappointment, and unanswered prayer at His feet, trusting that He is able to carry what we cannot. Mary of Bethany beautifully demonstrates what it means to come to Yeshua's feet in every season of life. She first sat at His feet to listen and learn as His disciple (Luke 10:39). When her brother Lazarus died, she fell at His feet in grief, bringing Him her deepest sorrow and trusting Him with her pain (John 11:32). After Yeshua raised Lazarus, Mary anointed His feet with costly perfume in an act of worship, gratitude, and complete devotion (John 12:3). Whether she needed wisdom, comfort, or simply wanted to worship, Mary's first response was always to come to His feet.

God invites us to do the same. "Call to Me, and I will answer you" (Jeremiah 33:3). His answer may come as peace, wisdom, strength, endurance, or deliverance, but He is always faithful to respond according to His perfect will. Peter echoes this promise: "Cast all your worries on Him, for He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7), while Paul teaches that through prayer and thanksgiving, God's peace will guard our hearts and minds in Messiah Yeshua (Philippians 4:6-7).

Laying everything at His feet is an act of faith, not defeat. It is choosing to trust His heart when you cannot trace His hand. Surrender does not mean you stop praying—it means you stop carrying what belongs to God. Like Mary, come to His feet to learn, to weep, and to worship. There you will find His presence, His peace, and His sustaining grace. The burden you surrender becomes the testimony of His faithfulness, for the God who calls you to lay it at His feet is the same God who promises to sustain you and never let you be shaken.
