BE Strong & Very Courageous

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9 KJV

Many of us read the bible and we quote many of the scriptures which is very good. I have a question to ask us. How many of us really believe what God says to us in His word or what He has personally spoken to us?

At times we tend to believe the words of others more than the words of God. When the enemy speaks lies to us, we somehow believe them too and become fearful. Why do we question God’s words to us? God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? -Numbers 23:19 KJV. We know that God is not like man who lies, God is not like man who makes a promise and break his promise; yet we struggle to take God at His word.

Joshua was now the leader of the Israelites. In Joshua chapter one, God told Joshua to be strong and courageous three times. The third time God said to Joshua, ‘have not I commanded thee?’ God was reiterating His words to Joshua. God was saying to him again, I am giving you a command. I am giving you, my word; you do not need to fear. I just need you to be strong and courageous. Don’t listen to the words of others. Do not listen to the voice of the enemies that you will face. Only listen to what I say to you.

Whose words are you listening to today? We serve a God we can trust. He is trustworthy. He does not go back on His words. He is a promise keeper. God will do just what He said He will do. Believe Him, believe everything He said to you. He speaks only truth. If you are afraid and need encouragement, read the bible, God’s word.

Do not listen to the voice of the enemy, he is the father of lies; he only speaks lies. Listen to God’s words. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it - Isaiah 55:11 KJV.

Listen to the voice of God! Only be strong and courageous!
