Obedience Opens Doors to Abundance

“He said to them, ‘Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.’ So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish” (John 21:6).

Listening to Yeshua can turn empty nets into overflowing blessing when you trust His direction.

The disciples must have felt like failures. These experienced professionals, fishing in their home waters, had caught nothing. What were they doing wrong?

But everything changed when Yeshua arrived. Standing on the beach, He told them to throw their net on the other side of the boat, promising a huge catch!

They would have been happy to catch something, just to prove they were competent fishermen. But they received much more than they could have imagined. The catch was so huge that “they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish” (v. 6).

You see, they were doing what they always did and going where everyone else goes. They always caught fish this way. So, to catch nothing was very unusual for them. Yeshua didn’t tell them to go back to their old familiar. He directed them to new territory, a new way of doing things, different people…something new.

Everything turned around when they obeyed Yeshua. Putting aside their pride and logic, they simply obeyed, trusting in Him instead of their own experience. Because of their obedience, they received a miracle. Frustration was replaced with overwhelming joy. Lack was replaced with abundance.

All of us want these kinds of results: prosperity…the greatest reward…the biggest catch. But as the disciples learned, the key to receiving this abundance is obedience; knowing God’s Word and obeying it, submitting to the Lordship of Yeshua, seeking His will, and being sensitive to the leading of His Spirit.

Commit to God the challenges you face. Ask for His Wisdom. Be ready to obey and step out in faith. Give Him the opportunity to turn around your circumstances.

Where is Yeshua prompting you to obey Him today? He knows the fish He has for you and where they are. Simply obey Him and the doors of abundance will open up for you.
