”So, the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.” - Luke 8:39 NLT.

There are so many social media platforms today. Everywhere you turn there is some form of news, some form of information being shared that someone feels everyone needs to know. The question is, does the news or all the information that is being shared relevant? Is it life changing? Is it uplifting? Is it wholesome?
Many times, when you look at and listen to what is shared on these social platforms, there seems to be more confusion than clarity of what is really truth. Today, people do not need more sad news or misinformation. They need their spirits uplifted. People need encouragement. People need to know there is hope. People need to know there is a better way in life. Though things around us may not be the way we would like, there is one who can change situations. There is one in whom hope is found. There is one who can tell us the way we should go. There is one who holds the truth and is the truth. There is one who leads to eternal life. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me, John 14:6 KJV.
Scripture tells of a man who was possessed by demons. For a longtime he had been tormented, homeless and naked, living in the tombs outside the town, Luke 8:27-28. His place of abode was not even among the living, but among the dead. My God! This situation sure seemed hopeless. Can you imagine this sight? I am sure the man thought this would be his way of life until death. He probably thought, who can help me? I’m sure many in society, scorned him, was afraid of him and even spoke of his condition and thought, there is no hope for him.
But one day, his appointed day, Jesus showed up, not for those who were whole but for this one man. Hallelujah! His day finally came, and I could only imagine his reaction. It was just another day for him, but little did he know his life was about to change forever! Scripture tells us, as Jesus was climbing out of the boat, the man came out to meet Jesus. He cried out to Jesus and fell down before Him. Jesus delivered him who was once possessed by demons. After his encounter with Jesus, the man was now in his right mind. Praise the Lord!
This man who was once possessed and now made whole begged to go with Jesus, but Jesus told him, ‘Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. Luke 8:39 NLT. This is the news people need to hear today. This is what we as children of God are called to do, share the good news of Jesus. Tell of what God has done for us. As believers we should not partake in that which is not wholesome. Our minds must be renewed, Romans 12:2. Our actions must reflect those of Christ – love, hope, peace, kindness, speak truth!
